Free Summer Saturdays ,Cocoran Gallery of Art- Join the Corcoran on Saturdays this summer for Gallery tours, workshops, demonstrations, and performances! Enjoy our summer exhibitions and programming free of admission on Saturdays from Memorial Day weekend through Labor Day weekend.
Artland Brookland Arts & Culture Temporium – is a 12 week public art celebration offering free cultural events and promoting creative expression. The events are housed in temporary art spaces (Temporiums), animating public areas and bringing to life two vacant storefronts in the Monroe Street NE area. The free cultural events include visual arts exhibits, dance performances, music concerts, dance parties, poetry readings, workshops and recreational games for all ages. Local crafts will be on sale and displayed in pop-up shops at the venues throughout the event.
Presented by Dance Place with guest curators from the DC creative community, Artland events take place every weekend until August 26, 2012 and are free to the public.

National Gallery of Art – Classic Looney Tunes, ages 6 and up) Join us for a screening of animated shorts from Warner Bros.’ Looney Tunes and Merrie Melodies series. Beginning as theatrical releases in the 1930s and moving to network television in the 1950s, cartoons featuring the comedic timing of Bugs Bunny, Daffy Duck, and Porky Pig have been making audiences laugh for more than 70 years. The program will include, among others: One Froggy Evening (1955), What’s Opera, Doc? (1957), and Duck Dodgers in the 24 ½ Century (1953). Approximately 60 minutes.

DC Jazz Jam, Sunday August 12, 2012 – Sit back, relax, and listen to local jazz musicians create a musically groove as they jam together on stage this Sunday features : 3-year Anniversary Jam (6:30 until 10:30pm) with Special Guests Elijah Balbed (tenor sax), J.S. Williams (trumpet), and Corey Wallace (trombone), emcee Aaron Myers, and the original Dahlak House Band: Peter Runk (keys), Mark Caruso (guitar), Percy White (bass), and Will Stephens (drums).
